Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go all the way back to my 4.9 install since Webhost4Life forgot to mention that they automatically delete database backups after a few days and I didn't bother FTP the backup file down my machine...  Is there something that outlines the DNN upgrade process so that I can try and mimic it manually and maby pick up the steps that failed?

The first two errors relating to the missing stored procedures GetWorkflows and GetTopHtmlText are related to the failed install of the HTML module and likely can be resolved by a manual reinstall/repair of the module by direct manipulation of the database.

The next two errors relating to Host Settings and Module Definitions being currently unavailable are much more troublesome. Most likely similar errors will be discovered as you test various admin and host functions. These two errors indicate that failures occured not just in the HTML module upgrade but in the framework upgrade itself.

At this point I see your options as follows:

  • Roll back to the backup of both files and database prior to the first upgrad attempt - unfortunately, this option appears not possible as the backups do not exist.
  • Examination of the files and database tables/stored proceedures of the failed upgrade and comparision with those of a working DNN 5.2.0 or 5.2.1 installation followed by manual repairs to both files and database - this would be very time consuming and would require a very good knowledge of the DNN framework and database structure plus host level access to the site, FTP access to the filesystem, and remote access to the database. There is also a very good chance that undiscovered errors in database structure and content may cause problems later on, particularly in future upgrades.
  • Creation of a new DNN 5.2.1 site followed by manual transfer of file and database content from the failed installation - this would again require a good knowledge of the database structure plus the same access as above  to both installations.
  • Creation of a new DNN v 5.2.1 site followed by manual recreation of all content - although this one is the most painful to accept it has the best chance of long-term success and may actuallly be the fastest if the content of the old site is readily available.

If you would like to discuss the 2nd option further, you may contact me outside of the forums at bill (at) wesnetdesigns.com. However, with my current workload and with getting ready to soon head south for the winter I could not take this on until mid-January.
