I can get to the starter site on the host machine by going to http://localhost/DotNetNuke, but when I try it from a different computer I get the standard "page canot be displayed".  I'm running IIS6, Server 2003, SQL 2005 Workgroup, ASP.NET 2.0, and DNN 05.01.04.

I'm sure it simple.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi

You've certainly installed DotNetNuke with URL http://localhost/dotnetnuke which have been registerd as default URL for your default portal.

You only have to register network URL like http://computer_name/dotnetnuke in order to enable network access. Use Site menu to add new HTTP Alias.

localhost is a special name that resolves to the IP address 127.0.0.1, which is the local machine.  So when you go to another machine and use the name "localhost"... you are asking it to find a website on THAT machine.  In order to reach the other machine, you need to use an address that works for it.  Do you know the IP address of the other machine?  I presume this is just for testing purposes?

Scott -

Good morning, and thanks for the reply.  IP addressing and DNS are set up correctly.  Yes, it is on a test server.  It currently houses a default static website, as well as outlook web access.  Both are accessable on the network, but DNN can only be accessed on the local machine.
