Hi,

I want to upgrade from DNN 3.2.2 to DNN 5.3.1

Could you tell me the steps required in this upgrade?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Doru

 I just did this and it went OK. Always back up. Copy the old site to a new directory, and set it up as a virtual directory. Make a back up of the database and change the web.config to point to the new database.

Then upgrade in steps. Don't upgrade from 3.2.2 to 5.3.1., upgrade to a 4.x version, then a mid-4 version, and then finally up to 5.x. Make back ups all the way, this way if something fails during the upgrade you don't have to start from the beginning. You may run into some errors along the way, but I found them to be common, and easy to fix by using Google, and the continuing on.

Good luck.

Thank you Patick!

I need to know the intermediary DNN versions required in this upgrade. (ex. 3.2.2 -> 4.1.3 ->....)

Thanks,

Doru Pirvu

I suggest the following steps: 3.2.2. ->* 4.3.7 ->* 4.6.2 -> 4.9.5 -> 5.3.1 ->* requires manual adoption of web.config you may follow my checklist: http://www.deutschnetnuke.de/AboutDotnetNuke/V3V4TippsTricks/Upgradedurchführen.aspx
