Okay, so on our new host, I installed a clean copy of DNN Pro 05.06.02.

Everything seemed to be going well, got through the database setup, created the user, said successful.

And then, when I try to load the page, I get:

404 - File or directory not found.

The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

I'm fairly stumped, any ideas?

Thank you!

Just grasping at straws here

1. maybe check the URL is correct - maybe you want a temp domain setup and put in the live domain which isn't currently pointed to your dnn instance?  (Happened to me before :)  I always set the connection string manually in the web.config and do the automatic install.

2. If it is all correct - maybe try looking into the PortalAlias table and verify the correct url is there too for Portal 0

There appears to be no records at all in the PortalAlias table.

Very odd- You can either start all over and the install should take care of it - or just add a record into the PortalAlias table w/ your url. You don't need the http:// - and the Portal Id is zero.

Hmm... well I looked at adding a record in PortalAlias, however, there were no records in Portal either, so decided to try again installing fresh.

Everything seemed to be working completely fine (using the "custom" setting). It populated the database, created a user account, and got to the page selecting which modules to install, just like it did last time.

Hitting next on the module page lead to a "Bad Response From Server" and now I'm right back where I started, getting a 404 attempting to get to the site. It's like installation isn't completing.

Hmm..
