Hi I had a similar error running on iis 6 what you need to do is enable sub-authentication for IIS 6.0 there are commands  you need to enter in the command propmt to register a file

rundll32 %systemroot% \system32\iiussuba.dll,RegisterIISUBA

then set the identity of the application pool in IIS admin to the network service

lastly set the AnonymousPasswordSync to true

this is done by a command first browse to c:\Inetpub\AdminScripts

and type cscript.exe adsutil.vbs set W#svc/AnonymousPasswordSync true

that should get you to the next step in the process of installing DotNetNuke it helped me but n9ow i am stuck again after it installed and i am so tired of the permissions explanation does anybody earn a living at this forum because this site is in need of some concerned moderators i have seen pages of unanswered problems.

Hello,

   I have the same configuration problem. i already given permision to folder and also enabled file sharing. but still i have no clue. Please help me out asap.
