I'm also having an issue with 1and1 trying to get DNN 3.3.1 to run.  I keep getting the following error after installing DNN for the first time on 1and1.

File \Logs\LogFailures.xml.resources
Error   Request for the permission of type System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission, mscorlib, Version=1.0.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089 failed.

I've been working on this for the past 3 days all with the same result.  I've changed the security permissions as 1and1 had in the Dotnetnuke installation guide.  Has anyone else experienced this.  I had them downgrade my ASP.NET framework to 1.1 already.  Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

-Scott

No solution here but I have spent the last 2 days trying to get DNN installed on 1and1 and I'm going to switch. there is no reason installing this app should be so difficult or time consuming. If anyone has a solution please let me know otherwise I'm going with a different web provider tomorrow.

Since we've come to the conclusion that 1and1 now sucks (no profanity this time ;) ) Im looking at cancelling the hosting with them and moving to somewhere else, someone who DOES support not just ASP.Net and scripting, but specifically DNN.

Any suggestions?

I just signed up with PowerDNN - they have a special right now if you're quick.  The best part is they set up the DNN install for me there (my personal site for my family photos and DNN stuff I do away from the job).  All I did was sign up and within a few hours (it was Sunday I think) the brand new 4.3.1 site was up.  Now all I need to do is figure out the upgrade path once the Gold release of 4.3.x is out.  They are a little more than WH4L - but you get what you pay for.
