Basicly I running my DNN 6.0.1 installations also on Plesk 10.x without any issues on the install. So I am sure it happens likly with the setings or the hosters environment there.

I took one more run at it but this time I used the install files I downloadedand got working on localhost and it worked.  I decided to try that one because it didn't ask me to install "Telerik" which is where it always crashed before.  After I get up a little nerve I'll try to install "Telerik", whatever that is.  I hope it doesn't break anything because this has been such an ordeal.  Thanx to everyone who offered advice.

Which version of DNN are you trying to install on the server - the INSTALL.zip or SOURCE.zip.

Also when you - downloaded the zip to your local machine did you UNBLOCK It before unpacking it - feels like you either have the wrong set of files or some files are missing.
