Hey all, I was excited to see the new 4.3 candidate posted for download.  I am running a recently fresh install of 4.0.3, but have been having issues uploading modules that I hope would be resolved with this update.

I couldn't find any instructions on how to install the update.  So I just FTPed the files on top of my current install, and hit the main page.  It tries then tries to run an install on it's own, but I get the dang error:  Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Pretty much stuck here, not sure how to proceed.

Thanks!

Have you copied the connection strings, validation and encryption keys (plus object qualiier if you used it ) values to release.config and renamed it web.config?

Do you know the truth when you hear it?

But are there instructions anywhere?

I find nothing on the dotnetnuke site.

No, there are no instructions for the current releases. However, all upgrades work in the same way. I've been told that the Upgrade versions can be used to upgrade your installed version without touching current modules. If you want to upgrade modules as well, use the install version.

"If you want to upgrade modules as well, use the install version."

Does it work basically the same way?  Copy the "install" version over the top of your current version and make the changes to the release.config file?
