It *was* the older version until you see this 00:00:00.480 - Upgrading to Version: 4.3.5 Success

To check your current version, login as Host and select Host|Host Settings. Also at the bottom of the page the drop down list will show you the logs from each upgarde.

I hope this is of some help to you.

Referring to my previous post. This error message didn't seem to cause an immediate problem as the site was accessable when I tried after upgrading. But I didn't try again until today and I now get the following:

DotNetNuke Upgrade Error

The Assembly Version ( [ASSEMBLYVERSION] ) does not match the Database Version ( [DATABASEVERSION] )

ERROR: Could not connect to database.

The type initializer for 'DotNetNuke.Data.DataProvider' threw an exception.

I suspected I rebooted in between. So, what should I do? I did quite a lot to create a new site and would rather not lose this work.

Any ideas please?

If I do a fresh install of 4.3.5, is there a way I can copy the existing database or something? BTW, I'm obviously new to DNN.

I had to give the IIS user account permission to the IIS database:

Right click My Computer and select Manage, open Local Users and Groups, click on Users: You should see a user beginning with IWAM_ and the description will say "Launch IIS Process Account". This is the user you need to give permission to.

Find the aspnet_regiis.exe on your computer, usually located at C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727

From a command line (Start\Run\cmd.exe) switch to the above folder (cd C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727) and execute: aspnet_regiis –ga IWAM_<your computer name>

At least I think that got me past the error. Note this is for ASP.Net 2. For older versions you'll have to see http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=267904.
