Hi,

I have my DNN 4.4.1 upgraded to 4.5.1 on my development machine by unzipping the upgrade source pack over the Website directory and that worked fine.

On my production machine there is a precompiled DNN version 4.4.1. Upgrading that instance make sme trouble while copying the precompiled DNN version 4.5.1 to the site resulted in the following error when i wanted to browse the site: "Could not find a part of the path 'xxx\App_GlobalResources\Locales.xml'". Also it seems that the application and the database have been upgraded.

So i need some help on upgrading the precompiled DNN to 4.5.1.

Suggestion are appreciated.

Are there instructions to setup source version of core for dev?   I find that if I use the solution with the website dir in the downloaded structure, the dev environment creates a config file and dlls are stored in the wrong place etc.

Thank You

Hi Basil0,
Take a look at this post: www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/107/threadid/14873/scope/posts/Default.aspx

I think this is the same problem, and I think it still exists. The fix would be not to use pre-compilation, or change the code like in the post. But the post does not give any explanation why it is not fixed while the problem is known.

For me, one of the most important things is safe and 100% sure (what runs on the live server is what is build) deployment. But the default asp.net model, and the model used by Dnn does not seem to support this.

Leo.

Hi Leo,

Thanks for your advice. In the meantime i've too found that workaround - to rename the App_GlobalResources folder - and it works for me.   Hope that will be fixed some time.

Basil
