Hi,

I just installed DNN 07.03.01 on my workstation with no problems.

As soon as I logged in for the 1st time, I saw the following message:

Oh no! It appears you are offline.

Check back later for videos and links to help you get started with your new DNN installation.

I have looked around for any proxy settings, as my workstation sits behind one, but no luck!

I've also looked around the web a lot and there is nothing for the above issue. Google comes up with 2 results pointing on the actual path of the page that contains this message "~\DNN_07.03.01\Portals\_default\GettingStartedFallback.htm"

Any ideas on why this is happening?

Thanks in advance.

the above message just indicate that the web site is unable to connect to DNNsoftware.com to retrieve live content. You may enter proxy settings in Host > Host > Settings (2nd tab), but besides, this should not affect function of your website.

Hi Seb,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I've tried the proxy settings with domain name or ip, with or without authentication and I still get the same message.

I know it doesn't cause any issues with the website it just doesn't look right when you're demoing the admin view to a client.

You know what I mean?

I have to admit, that I didn't try running DNN behind a Proxy yet - it might happen, that GettingStarted doesn't use the proxy and simply tries to Access the remote content via http.

So, is that standard behavior?

In most scenarios where business users get to access the admin site, they do it in-house. Chances are there's a proxy involved. Also, we usually prohibit the admin folder outside the organization so I guess users will never get to see it working...
