Hi Ranjith,

I've been struggling with this too! I managed to get it installed but it's far from straight forward! I haven't robustly checked it, but if you're interested I took the following steps:

System: Windows 2008 R2 / IIS 7.5 / SQL 2008 R2

1) Created DB / User w/DBO perms
2) Downloaded/Extracted files into domain root (With Application Pool Identity perms)
3) Set Application pool to Classic mode
4) Filled out the details on the installer page
5) Install failed (Needs to be Integrated mode)
6) Switch Application pool to Integrated mode / clicked re-try
7) Install failed, siting existing table (can't remember which!)
8) Deleted database, recreated it with same name
9) Retried, failed on existing table "skins"
10) Deleted "skins" table and retried - "Success"

I'm not going to use it, can't help but think something is probably broken(probably on skins ;) ), though I can log in and click around without any issue so far.

Hope some of that helps you, or better yet help someone that knows what they're doing to point out exactly why it doesn't work "out of the box"

Thank you Wexford for the response. The installation successful for me if the IIS and Database is in the same server. But, it is failing when the Database is in the remote server and the message I'm keep getting is "No valid default database connection detected. Standard Database setup option is unavailable."

I tried to install few other servers, but I'm still getting the same error in all servers.

Thanks

That seems to tell you there is a problem with the account you are using. It cannot access the database over the network.

Best wishes,

Hello Richard,

With the same account, I'm able connect to the database with Management Studio and Test.UDL.

Thanks
