So it seems that ASP.Net doesn't have permission to run. I can access and view HTML, CSS, and graphic files without a problem. ASPX pages generate 403 error in IE and "You do not have permission to view this directory or page." in chrome. As I have previously written, I have checked the permissions on the App Pool Identity. If anyone has anything constructive I can try I would greatly appreciate it.

Think again!

Lose your sense of entitlement and don't shoot the messenger.

If you tell us what actually happened and how it was different to what you expected then we may be able to work out what's wrong with your setup. At the moment you don't have a useful answer. Give us actual information and we may be able to get you a useful answer.

If you want me to guess then I'll move on.

Best wishes,

What I expect to happen is have the Installation Process run...

I believe I have clearly stated that when I browse to the site in Chrome it redirects to the InstallWizard as would be expected but then displays a simple white page that reads "You do not have permission to view this directory or page". If I attempt to load the site in IE I just get a 403 Forbidden error and it does not redirect to the InstallWizard.

I have confirmed that the Identity for my App Pool has Full Control permission. I have confirmed that the Login information for my DB is correct. I have confirmed that I can access non .Net files.

Thanks. I'm interested in the earlier steps of the process where you said:

1. Steps 7 through 9, doesn't seem to be working for me the way it's described.
2. After setting up the DB I can't perform step 14i.

What happened at those stages? Or are you satisfied in some way that they are unimportant?

Best wishes,

OK... First:

  1. Expand the websites node
  2. Expand the default website node
  3. Right click on the dotnetnuke folder under the default website, click on Convert to Application, if you don't have that option, choose properties and then add the application.

These steps don't really tell me what to do. I don't have the "Convert to Application" option. I can click on "Add Application", but that wants give an Alias and Physical Path. These instructions give no direction. I created one with an alias of Default and pointed it to the root of my DNN site. When I click on the "Test Setting" it errors saying Invalid Application Path. I don't remember having to do this in past installations.

I've since gotten steps 14i setup. However, that has not improved anything for me.
