I have just created a new install of DNN 3.3.5 on ixwebhosting.com  The install seems to be working I haven't done much with it yet.  I have uploaded a Skin, created, another page, added modules.

However, I can't seem to upload files using the Files from common tasks page.  When I click on upload file it should bring up a page asking me to browse, add name of file and upload.  I get no change on the web page at all.

2nd, if I try to create a directory, I get a message "Error on Page" in the gray bar near the bottom of internet explorer.  I type the folder name in the box and click add folder and nothing but the tiny error message.

Any ideas why I am having this problem and how to fix it?  I think it is odd I could upload skins and save content to the DB.  I also can FTP files to the site includeing the portals/0 directory.

"the Files from common tasks page"

This is not DotNetNuke terminology?  Sounds like it could be something specific to ixwebhosting.com?  Check the names of the pages, etc. you are on... or even post a screenshot... that would help.

Cheers

when I log into my DNN portal as admin or host, the top of the screen has several sections such as page functions, adding new/existing module, and common tasks.

In the Common Tasks is: Wizard, Site, Users, Files, and Help.

When I select Files I get the DNN File Manager

When I try to upload files or add a folder using this DNN File Manager as accessed from the Common Tasks -> Files I am unsucessful as per my previous post.  This is not IXWebHosting.com screens.  It may be possible it has something to do with the host provider, permissions etc.  But the screens are DNN.  the Hosting Company says this is a DNN software function and is not something they can address.

If you are logged in as host go to the Log Viewer page and see if there is a more descriptive error in there? I'd assume it's that the permissions are not setup properly on the directories, but can't be sure.

under the log viewer there are no errors or even entries recorded for the actions taken in File Manager.  The only recent things are logging in, and application started/shutting down type messages.

I also checked out the site log.  And there is absolutely no records of any kind at all.   I wonder if this is not activated or it is also having a related problem not getting the files started.
