I'm wanting to turn off the search feature on my DNN intranet site.
The search for "how to turn off search" I get the following link that looks relevent.

2 How to "shutdown" search - Relevance: 60120

Hi there,

we would like to turn off search in our portal. We know how to remove the input...

But I get this error when trying to access the page:
Access Denied
Either you are not currently logged in, or you do not have access to this content

Could someone point me in the right direction?

My guess is that you could do the following.

1.  Disable the search schedule in your schedule list
2.  Modify your skin to remove the "Search" input element

Thank you much, I was met with success.

For others info:
I modified this file: HorizontalMenuFixedWidthLeft.ascx
Located in the original skins package, in {skin name}/skin.zip
Got rid of this line inside the ascx file:
Saved the file under a different name, and put it into the skin.zip, and rezipped the outside file.
Inside the skins properties on the DNN site, I deleted the old skin package, and uploaded the new one. Though it didn't have a preview image, the search box existed no more.

Seems html is allowed on this forum... without the html brackets, this is the line removed:

dnn:SEARCH runat="server" id="dnnSEARCH" /
