I have finally resolved the issue with File Manager (please see start of thread).

It had to do with Snapsis PageBlaster:

The fix described (read all the way down) worked for me.

I have a similar problem with my file manager (can't see subfolders) Having read the text below I removed Portal Tooltip just to see if it made any difference and lo and behold got my file manager back. I've left a request on the BizModules forum and will post their reply here. DNN 4.4.1 seems to have thrown wobblies in quite a few modules, some which I have had to remove until the creators update them. The important one on my site was the MMSecureLogin which fell to pieces when I upgraded.

Make a backup of my complete DNN site via windows
Deleted My DNN install
Installed DNN 4.4.1
Restored the backup copy of the Following via windows

  • App_Data
  • Portals
  • Any Non-Core Desktop Modules
  • Any Non Core files in Bin
  • web.config file
My question is what actually fixed it. It's not anything in the DB, and its not anything in the skins/portals, its not a file permissions issue, and it's not a module issue (The only module that got removed was Portal Tooltip from BizModules.Net but I don't think that was the issue).

There was a bug in the tooltips module from BizModules. I left a message yesterday and the problem had been fixed by the time I got in this morning. If you have purchased this module, just download it from Snowcovered again. Now that's what I call support. :0)

I am also having sync problems.  no errors, the files just don't sync
