In addition to the DotNetNuke database we have a custom database for application specific data.  Say the web.config key is key="SiteSqlServer2".  I have developers that will be installing DNN for their development and need to create the second database and execute a script to create tables and views.  Is it possible, and if so how, do I include an additional script to execute during DNN installation that runs against SiteSqlServer2?

Thanks,

Josh

I have the same issue.  Does anyone have a good pointer on where to put a SQL script during installation before I start hacking through the install code?

TIA.

In the Install/Scripts directory under the web site put a SQL script in called something like:

<name>.SqlDataProvider

DNN should pick it up and execute it before the portal 0 is created.  In my case this won't work as I am trying to configure portal 0 beyond what DNN stores in the template it exports....so I guess I have to tweak the code slightly.

Mike,

I need to run mine after the initial portal is created as well.  If you end up successfully tweaking the install setup please let me know how you did it.  For now my setup instructions just say "after the portal is created run this sql script."  Not elegant, but it works.

So how does one request a feature change?

Seems to me that most people would want a custom SQL script to run after the entire installation is run...not somewhere in the middle.
