I am on 4.4.1.  How do you create a page template?

Unfortunately I do not think there is an export feature (I could be wrong, someone else correct me if I am). You can copy the /Portals/_default/Templates/Default.page.template file and edit it to contain the new template information you want to start with.

So when you create a new page and there is a drop down list to choose a page template, there really isn't an easy/good way to add to this list?  (just clarifying)  :)

Creating a new valid .page.template file in /Portals/_default/Templates/ will add to that list. as far as easy, that is relative to your definition :)

My suggestion is create the page you want, then export your portal vai the portal export feature under the Host | Portal menu then edit the template file located /Portals/_default/<yourtemplatename>.template and copy the <tab>...</tab> information from that file to a page template file.

Great!  I did that and it worked great!

In addition, would it work the same if I wanted it to create child pages as well... so when creating one new page, if this template is chosen it will automatically create 10 child pages as well?
