How do I adjust the various panes on the page to be the size I want them to be?

The appearance of the site is controlled by the skin. To modify the panes sizes and distribution you have to create a new skin.

I suggest you take a look at the skining doc. in the Documentation downloadable package.

Okay, that wasn't really helpful... Sooo, can anyone tell me in real english how to shrink the width of the modules or perhaps the entire page so that the entire width of the page can be viewed on the screen at the same time?

Well, I must admit I'm not an english native, but I tried my best english on that reply :)

Now seriously, the appearance of the site is controlled by the skin/containers design (again). So if you want a different distribution you have to create a custom skin, nothing magic it. If you want to fix the panes/modules, you can do this on the skin (by using fixed width panes, containers, ...). Or I'm missing something hidden on your message?

Sorry -- I meant "real English" as in, easy to understand everyday words, as in, spoonfeed me by telling me what buttons to push so I can get this project done and go to bed!  I got it all looking really nice somehow, but I really would like to know why the individual panes keep changing their size out of proportion to what I'm putting in them.  It seemed to all straighten up by itself somehow and everything fits just right on the screen, but I don't understand how that happened  -- I just kept pushing buttons.  And I did read the manual, if that's the 400 page DNN thing that I was sent by the Homeowners Assoc. that volunteered me for this project, but I couldn't find any specific answers to my problem in language I could understand.  So, is there a specific control that you can point to and say "hey, dummy, this is where you type in the width of the pane."?
