Its in 4.5.3 for sure, though I believe its in 4.5.2 as well.

Looks like it must be 4.5.3....my 4.5.2 sites don't have it..

I have played with the progress bar and have mixed results.  It works in my generic DNN install but it does not come up with my installation with  a custom skin.  I am trying both AjaxEmail and Survey.

I checked the source and saw that progressbar.gif was hard coded in skin.vb and modified it so that it would take into account the development environment where you have a 'website' in the path.  It still did not show up!  When I checked the source generated from the browser I noticed that there is anoher entry of progressbar.gif with the wrong path.  I have not bee able to find that and do not know where it is coming from!

Any ideas on how to get the progressbar to work in custom skin would be appreciated.

It should not be dependent on the skin you are using at all. The portal framework inserts the upgradeprogress indicator automatically if the control has SupportsPartialRendering enabled ( in ModuleControls ). The path is set to "~/images/progressbar.gif" which will take care of localized environment issues such as using the app on a virtual directory or site. Is it possible that your does not have enough latency to display the image ( ie. the upgradeprogress control will only be visible if there is a "delay" in performing the partial rendering ).

It is not the skin perhaps but at the first glance that was the main difference between my two installations.  I then realized that one installation is in development and perhaps the path to progress bar needs to be ~/website/images/progressbar.gif with the 'website' as the in between folder.

The other confusing thing is that the ~/images/progressbar.gif is in both skin.vb and also ajax.vb.  What is the role of each of these?  Would one be general dnn and the other specific to wrapping a control in an updatepanel?

Thanks for the help.
