Hi,

I just want to confirm this: If a user subscribe to a private role via RSVP, the only way to unsubscribe is for an administrator to do the unsubscription on behalf of the user?

Thanks

Ryan

Pretty old thread but still true.

I tested today this functionality and have to confirm, too. When creating a private group where users can subscribe to with an RVSP-Code they cannot unsubscribe on their own.

When switching on "public group" they can unsubscribe but do not need an RVSP for subscribing at all.

How to fix this?

Kai

There is allready an issue logged in allready under DNN-4591. It was opened for version 4.4.1 and was closed by yourself whith the comment "working as designed".

Should i open a new issue or could you re-open the issue as the function is useless when it keeps like "designed".

Either creating a public role to enable the user to subscribe AND to unsubscribe but then the user does not need a RSVP

Or creating a private role to force the user to use the RSVP but then he/she cannot unsubscribe.

AFAIK selling a subscription (especially when using also a fee) without enabling the user to unsubsribe on his own (!) is against the law in some countries ... e.g. Germany.
