I just checked out that script on a test site of my own, and it looks like the Page Header Tags field is only 1000 characters long.  So it was getting cut off, and that was causing all sorts of errors, since the script tag wasn't closed.

So it seems that your best bet is to put the script into a skin.  Or you could choose to leave one of those functions out, if possible, so it's not too much over.

There is a module called DSLocalizator that can include javascript on all parts of your page. Also, the javascript can be based on the current locale
