Hi,

I have 4.7.0 installed on a server.
In HOST->SCHEDULE->DotNetNuke.Services.FileSystem.SynchronizeFileSystem, DOTNETNUKE->HISTORY
the synchronization is every time FALSE.
I synchronized the folders and files because I could see with an FTP program that the files are on the server but not showing in the file manager.
In the file manager I synchronized every folder and after that all files were showing and the scheduled synchronization was TRUE.
The next day, some files were missing again. and the scheduled synchronization was FALSE.
Now some files a cannot get back to show in the file manager.
They are not missing because with the FTP program I can see them on the server.
With the FTP program I examined their properties and every ting seems to be normal (not hidden).
Deleting and upload them did not work either.
What can I do to let them show in the file manager.

With regards, Ton Hermes

  • do missing files have special names?
  • are files and folders tables indexed correctly?

Hi Sebastian

Here are the files
Not showing while in host-filemanager / Shows with FTP on server
/cache/placeholder.txt
/cache/readme.txt
/cache/opml/marketplace_dotnetnuke_com_a549bce7_0055444b.opml.resources
/cache/opml/www_dotnetnuke_com_ab8998ad_4a6f5645.opml.resources
/logs/LogFailures.xml.resources
/logs/logconfig/LogConfig.xsd
/logs/logconfig/LogConfigTemplate.xml.resources

I do not know what you mean with the second question.
I did not changed anything in the order of maps made by the the installation of DNN

If you like I can send you my host and pasword so you can take a look atyourself?
I hope you can help me out with this.

With regards, Ton Hermes

Did you get a resolution to this error.  I have a similar problem.  I upload some files and folders, then the next day or later that day the files are gone.  Its quite a problem because the missing files and folders are my website logo and some of the main PDF's clients use.  I'm keen to hear if you have a solution.  Currently I don't have FileSync on at all in the schedule as I can't find information that tells me what it actually does (apart from assuming what it does based on its name)

Ton,l

AFAIK there are issues with host files, I am not sure if it has been already addressed. I will try to have a look at it.

AFAIR, "Cache", "Skins" and "Containers" shall usually be "system" folders, that shall not show up in the file manager to prevent unwanted deletion.
