Hi,

I'm not how to explain this but I cannot access the portal admin anymore. Everything was going well up to one week ago. now when I open any of my sites I get a javascript error in IE "Done but with error on page." When I click to see what the error is I see Error : syntax error Code 0. And that is happening on all my sites on the portal. I did not change any of the skins. The result I cannot access the admin login page. When I click the login link, I see error on page and it goes nowhere. I check in firefox, same deal, nothing happens. Here's the link to one of the site http://www.lornet.org, maybe somebody has an idea of what could have happened. I really need help on that :(

thanks

Alain

From what I can tell it appears to be an issue with the skin.  I would possibly revert to a standard DNN skin so you can login then have a more detailed look at your skin.

hi,

thanks for the tip. But I would understand if it would one site that would have that problem, but it's all the sites on the portal that got the same problem. they were all working fine up to a week ago. I really don't think it's a skin problem. Could it be something else ? I'm not that good in DNN but it does not make sense that all my skins would have the same error after working for a year without problems.

Did you do anything special when you were editing the site last week?  DId you by chance add any modules that are set to show on all pages?  Any custom JS in a text/html module?

Thank you very much for taking the time to help me :)

I checked the view source code and compare it wth a working DNN site and the only difference is the following :

Working Site

<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
var theForm = document.forms['Form'];
if (!theForm) {
    theForm = document.Form;
}
function __doPostBack(eventTarget, eventArgument) {
    if (!theForm.onsubmit || (theForm.onsubmit() != false)) {
        theForm.__EVENTTARGET.value = eventTarget;
        theForm.__EVENTARGUMENT.value = eventArgument;
        theForm.submit();
    }
}
// -->
</script>

My site

<script type="text/javascript">
var theForm = document.forms['Form'];if (!theForm) {
 theForm = document.Form;}
function __doPostBack(eventTarget, eventArgument) {
 if (!theForm.onsubmit || (theForm.onsubmit() != false)) {
 theForm.__EVENTTARGET.value = eventTarget; theForm.__EVENTARGUMENT.value = eventArgument; theForm.submit(); }
}
>
</script>

As you can see, the comment tag inside the javascript does not appear in my website. I only see the last > instead of the whole tag. That's probably why I get a javascript error. I'm not sure how to resolve this though since it's not something I write myself in the skin. But it looks like the tag is not complete. Maybe it's a file that is corrupted in the DNN install. Any idea ?

Alain
