Erik,

the address is used as FROM for system notifications and as TO for signup notifications - and needs to be a member of the administrators role.

Just butting in again here sorry...

The changes due in Cambrian should make the administrator role no longer required for altering accounts

And additional places where the portal email is used are:

  • Modules that send email notifications and do not have a custom sender field e.g. the blog and loads of others.
  • The default DNN Privacy Page

I'll add others if I find any.
