Greetings, I have 2 questions about creating sub-portals that I'd be grateful if anyone can help with.

1) I know the content/navigation/pages of a new portal can be configured via a 'template' - but can additional fields be added to actual portal definition? Ie. instead of just portal name, admin name, password, etc...I'd like to add (mandatory) fields like address, owner, email, etc.

2) Is there any way (though the portal template or otherwise) to manage what sub-portals can change and what they can't? I need some content/pages/navigation to be centrally managed by the parent portal (and uneditable by child portals) but other pages/content/navigation to be available and editable by child portals. Is this possible?

Don't use portals if this is what you need.  Portals are separate, no shared content, no shared users, no shared permissions.

Sure.  Single portal, use roles for the security and asign users to appropriate roles.

Also, can anyone help me with the first question? Can a portal 'definition' be extended to include other information? Thanks again...
