Thanks Paul, I don't feel quite so lonely now!!

"supports partial rending"  is definitely switch ON.

Not sure about the OS, but there are other applications that run on this server that use AJAX perfectly OK, inclucing one that is hosted inside an Iframe within this DNN Portal!!!!!!

I have read elsewhere that PageBlaster has caused AJAX to stop working. Now I don't use PageBlaster, but are there other modules that also cause AJAX to fail?

Anyone out there know or have any other ideas?

PS. This thread is now showing 7 posts(before this one is put up!) so there is something very wrong !!

I've heard people talking about how RadAjax for ASP.NET/DNN (not the new one for AJAX which uses Microsoft AJAX) can cause other AJAX to break due to their proprietary AJAX. Check to see if you are using other modules that have Telerik RadControls in them. Maybe that has something to do with it. It's a long shot but worth a try right?

[edit] Check to see if another module might be using a scriptmanager tag. There can only be one per page.
Also, check with your hosting provider that you have ASP.NET AJAX installed.

So does the hosting web server have to have ASP.NET Ajax installed?

If so,

a) how do I check whether or not it is installed (our site is hosted internally and I don't think our tech guys will know this)

b) If it is not installed, do I just get them to load it via the Microsoft ASP.NET AJAX site?

Cheers,

Rich

OK I have proved that AJAX is installed on the web server - I used the DotNetNuke.Framework.AJAX.IsInstalled method to prove it.

So any suggestions as to what to try next?

This is really getting desparate now as I am being put under a severe amount of pressure from our sales & products manager to get the site up and running by the end of this week OR ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!

so HELP ME PLEASE

Another thought, does this "Supports Partial Rendering" work in an SSL (https://) environment?

That's the only other difference I can find between my test & stage environments.
