I've downloaded and installed 4.8.4 and have been having trouble with the containers. Specifically, if I go to a page that has containers that are already collapsed, such as the Admin > Site Settings page, and then expand the Advanced Settings container......it automatically closes back up on me a few seconds later (Note: I'm using the default skin/install as I'm currently trying to learn). It seems that most if not all containers that are collapsed on page load will automatically collapse again when I try to expand it. As you can imagine it is very frustrating because I'm trying to learn DNN but can't access many of the settings. At first I thought it was just a problem with my browser (6.0.2900.2180 SP2), but I just received my new laptop with IE 7 and have the same exact problem. Any ideas? Could this be a but in the latest release? I would also be curious if anyone else has experienced the same issue.

Oh yea....another thing I've noticed is that sometimes trying to expand or collapse a container will actually affect a neighboring container instead. I've created multiple instances of DNN but have the same problem every time.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thx

I haven't seen that and I'm sure if it was happening to everyone (or a large number) there'd be a ton of screaming on the forums.

That said, have you got anything installed on your computer that might be blocking Javascript etc? IE: Norton Internet Security (or whatever seems to come installed on most new laptops). If you do then maybe try disabling it to see if that makes a difference.

Yes, I have exactly the same problem (re expanding settings) and I am running 4.8.4. It was very worrying.

You are only the third person I have come across who has this problem. Bit I have a fix - use Fire Fox. It only affects Internet Explorer. It could also be to do with McAfee, but it definately works fine in Fire Fox, and on my old laptop which has IE 6 and no McAfee.

this problem may be more univeral than you might think.   I have about 100 users on our system and i just witnessed this on one of our persons laptops.   She has Vista and IE7 running.   Every time she expands or collapses a tree item in the settings of a module, it will pause for a second then recollapse it or re-expand it.   She even says that sometimes (very rarely) it works just fine.  Any ideas?

I am having the same issue with the settings on one module. That is the only one so far. I can't do anything with the settings because it collapses before I can make any seletions.
