Hello everyone

I want to know can we add a user in "Super User account"? Actually we want to assign one of our DNN site moderator "Super user Account" privileges but we didnt find any option to assign it. Is it possible?

Thanks in advance.

If the user is already created, you would need to set the "IsSuperUser" flag in the users table.

If the user is not already created, from the Host Menu add them via Host Accounts.

I've been trying understand the official line regarding Host (Superuser) Accounts.  Clearly, you can add new Host Accounts by the method you mention, so does this mean there are multiple Host Accounts?  Or is the default Host Account unique among the Host accounts?

I'm having a discussion with a outsourcer on the issue and would like to clarify.  I'm thinking that maybe in the past the only way to make a second Host Account was to run a SQL query to displace the original Host Account user created on install?  And that this changed recently?

Thanks.

Hi Tim,

As far as I am aware, there is nothing "special" about the default host account.  Adding a new host account (whether through the IsSuperUser bit or through the Host->Host Accounts menu option) creates an account with power equal in every way to the account created on in stall.  You may have as many (or as few) host accounts as is necessary; obviously this number should be kept as small as is feasible.
