I'm new to this and need help.

I'm want to create a duplicate of our production box on an identical test box.  I was thinking get the hardware, restore from tape DotNetNuke folder and database from production to test, setup IIS on test to look similar to production, changing only the IP address and device names. Well I've done what I thought.

Two questions, one what is the right way to replicate DotNetNuke from one box to another?

How can I fix the following message so I don't get it when trying to start DNN?

Thanks!

DotNetNuke Upgrade Error

The Assembly Version ( [ASSEMBLYVERSION] ) does not match the Database Version ( [DATABASEVERSION] )

ERROR: Could not connect to database.

Login failed for user 'webadmin'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.

Replicate or just move/copy?

The error is due to an incorrect setup of your SQL connection.

Move/copy.

Was able to get beyond this message by changing security seting from windows to SQL server and Windows.

Now when ever I try to acess DNN protal on the Test system, it routs e to the Production system.

You need to go into the database and change the data in the portalalias table to specify your testmachine instead of the live URL.

I forget to do this about 1/2 the time when I make a test copy of my live site.

Corrected the portalalias to point to the test machine.  Can now login.

New issue should I start a new thread?  If so I will.

Now when I try to access business information I get and error:

A critical error has occurred.
The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found.
.

You had ention earlier that the sql connetion was incorrect.

Where is sql connetion information stored?

what should I be looking for?

thank, you, very much for your assistance.
