Thanks for the reply Greg, I did not know Xmod could do this.   I will see what I can do with Xmod, I also have the Xmod Pro prelease so that might work as well.

It is a really pity about these issues since DNN has such great features, but when it comes to creating SEO friendly names there are way too many hurdles.

How about doing it this way.    I use a custom signup form which writes an actual .aspx page, named according to the chosen username, in a specific directory.  This page is based on a pre-defined template which has all the nav bars and the different modules I need.

Whenever this page loads it sets the userID in a hidden field which posts to the server and then retrieves the correct data for that user.

Will this work?

Don't know - sounds like it might.  Maybe someone with more knowledge than I will chime in.

Also, you could look at Active Social - not sure if it has user name vs. userID capability or not.

Don't think Kelly has got the encode/decode ability in XMP yet. But it's sure to be on the roadmap.
