I know i know....imagine how i'm sitting here....

Dnn Event Viewer: No Website -> Dnn Event Viewer

Server Eventlog: as i'm now testing on my notebook (Vista) and can't see anything special dedicated to the webserver or asp or AppPool....

I'm really clueless. I had some probs with DNN in the past, like almost everybody, but never ever had it like that.

Well, the key is obviously to recreate the problem, and then check the event log and event viewer.  Those are really the only 2 places to look for errors, contrary to asphaltjesus' suggestion.

About eight times out of ten, problems with DNN are not actually with DNN itself, but rather with IIS, DNS, Web Server, permissions, or 3rd party modules/controls/providers/skins.  At least, that's been my experience.

If you find out more details, please share.  Otherwise, I am more stumped than you are right now. :)

And how, exactly, would he do that?  He can't go back in time.  Which is just one reason why dnn is so fragile.

Which makes my point about the lack of tools.  In the very complicated stack on which DNN sits, there are only 2 places to look for errors.  Two!  And those two aren't terribly verbose and/or the messages aren't well documented.

OK guys, thanks for your effort.

But i must agree to asphaltjesus.....it might be just ...ahm... magic?

What i've done right now is i deleted all corresponding lines in tables desktopmodules, moduledefinitions etc, killed the modules own tables, deleted all files of it....guess what? Right. Nothing changed.

I can guarantee that on my webserver nothing has changed. I'm the only one who can access it and as i'm ms-certified, i know what i'm doing. But i dit nothing but adding some pictures to a module!!!!

However, i will do a rollback to my last backup (9 days ago) and will give you information about whether this .... thing.....comes up again.

Here we are. My site is back again and running with the 9 days old backup (files and db). And again, i changed nothing on my server.

And in the backup is the module i mentioned allready included. Therefore i don't think that the module is the guilty one.

So, any clues?
