I have DotNetNuke Version 04.04.0.  I am just getting into setting Friendly URLs. I know to go to Host Settings, expand Advanced Settings, expand Friendly URL Settings and then check the Use Friendly URLs check box. Then I am lost.

I know how to open the Add New Rule but I cannot get anything to work. The biggest problem I have is that I can find absolutely no documentation on how to add a new rule. Can anyone restore my faith in DotNetNuke and point me to some documentation on how to add a rule???

atm simply do not edit the rules, if you don't really know how.

First I suggest upgrading to a more recent version, i.e. 4.9.5 or 5.2.0, which provide better support for URLrewriting including Human readable urls and come with additional rules.

Sebastian,

I noticed that 5.2 new install have different rules than if I upgrade. Is this by design?

Wouldn't do me much good to upgrade if there is no documentation to tell me how to add a new rule.

Jan,

IMHO there should be same rules, but I assume there is sth missing in the upgrade logic.
