I also miss Smileys from FCK - how about this method from Telerik Support - Creating a Smiley DDL though - it does not use Snippets? I have not tried it...

Looks like it could be a good solution.  Didn't work for my quick test - nothing populated the drop down dispite a few URL formats - but promising none the less.

 Likewise - I can't even get a ddl to appear... will keep trying... (your Snippet hack does work well though - really want a smiley icon tho!)

BTW Lance, have you managed to get a custom icon to appear using CSS?
I use your RadEditor.css in the portal trick (and it is working as I can change the background colour of the editor) - but I am trying to make an toolstrip and change the custom icon - eg:

<style type="text/css">
.reTool .AlignmentOptions
{
    background-image: url("JustifyLeft.gif");
}
</style>

The tabstrip name in the toolset file is AlignmentOptions but it's just shows the default icon...

I tired replacing the snippets image but the icons are loaded by a WebResource.axd call (the spriteful design is nice to see however). Not sure where the image is stored - evidently not in the providers folder.

I also tried adding the icon to the config file but it didn't override the default. The only icons I have been able to control are the ones in the snippets ddl. Any other customizations haven't worked yet so perhaps this version is locked down comparatively.
