The content on our DNN site is out of date in the search results.

We have to manually re-index the content  in Host >> search admin.

Isn't this task of re-indexing the content supposed to be run as a scheduled task?

In Host >> Schedule it says - it is set to run every 6 hours:

DotNetNuke.Services.Search.SearchEngineScheduler, DOTNETNUKE Every 6 Hours Every 60 Minutes

So, not sure why it doesn't find new content (only finds content from a last manual re-index)

Mark,
please check the schedule history and eventlog for issues reported.
Make sure, the scheduler is triggered on page requests (Host settings).
clear the search index manually (See http://www.deutschnetnuke.de/tabid/134/Default.aspx)

Sebastian Leupold

thanks, it looks like the scheduler was disabled somehow and not been run for a few months (must have been from time when we had technical issues, did a roll back and not re-enabled it again.) anyway, fixed now. thanks. Mark.
