Well, I went ahead and COPIED 5.6.1 INSTALL over top of a 5.6.0 (like I always do) and I cannot get this to work.  In fact, the setting won't even save.  I choose Redirect, click update and it doesn't save ...

Do you mean you copied dnn UPGRADE package over the top of a live site or dnn INSTALL package of the top of a live site.

if you used Install package, please make sure to use still the previous web.config file.

Its not a web.config issue.  I first copied the install package overtop except the web.config [my normal practice and never an issue].  When the portalmapping didn't work, I then updated the install package webconfig with the old connectionstrings and machine key and over wrote the old one.  The portalmapping still doesn't work.

I am using Chrome ... gonna try IE.
