one more hint: you don't need to set skin and container individually for each admin and host page - simply go to Admin root, set the skin save and click "apply to all child pages", do the same for Host root page.

Thanks, Sebastian ... I keep forgetting about the Copy Design feature ... it's only directly underneath where you set the Page Skin after all!

thanks guys!

i cannot test it out right now, so it will have to wait until monday, but I definitely get what you are saying.

its funny, i knew how to set the pages manually but it did not dawn on me to do it for the admin and host pages. I guess I just got confused with how the options in DNN were and figured it did it on its own and I was messing something up... I will post monday morning first thing and let you know how it works...

ok guys I went and did this... it worked perfect for my newly created pages... It used my skin perfectly.. .Then I went and changed the skin of the admin main page and then applied it to all child.. and it worked fine.. then I went and started to do the same for host, but when I clicked on apply to all child pages I get this error:

A critical error has occurred. The UPDATE statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_wsd_Tabs_wsd_ContentItems". The conflict occurred in database "DotNetNuke", table "dbo.wsd_ContentItems", column 'ContentItemID'. The statement has been terminated.

any ideas??

that might be a seperate problem as host pages do not have associated portalid's it might be causing that issue -you may have to apply the skin on a page by page basis for host. Please log this as an issue at support.dotnetnuke.com so we can investigate.
