As far as I recall all you should be seeing if you have things set up correctly are the styles in the editor.css file.

This goes the same for the question regarding background color - all you should need to do is include a body or #body style with the background color you require.

Hmmm - just had a chance to look at this on one of our sites - it seems there may be a bug in the radeditor that is not properly pointing to the editor.css file - sure it was working when I looked at this last.

It may be worth flagging this as a possible bug.

@bo suriner

I had the same problem  you have now but I have a one skin website I solved the problem by putting editor.css in the default skin root

I don’t have a local installation here and can’t remember the exact path but you should go one folder back from your skin root and then go to the default map and place the file there

@ Wes Tatters

Do you know if it is possible for the editor to show styles in the edit box but not in the dropdown box

FYI I've traced this down to an issue with the pop-ups introduced in DotNetNuke 6.0. For some reason when the module is popped up it does not inject the cssFiles variable that the telerik editor uses to control stylesheets (I'm speculating that it doesn't because it's not a full page but rather a popup). I've logged an issue for this in our bugtracker so we can fix it for a future release (http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/V...) . Note: i also associated that with an issue related to module.css which seems a related issue i.e. pop-ups loading skins differently from discrete pages.

For now, you can work around this by disabling popups for the html editor. To do so, log in as host and go to host->extensions, click the edit icon beside the html module, expand out the "module definitions" section, click the edit icon beside the "edit" control and then uncheck "supports popups". This will revert it to the pre dnn 6.0 behaviour where an edit goes to a new page and the editor.css will load correctly. Please note, the correct path is the root of the active skin i.e. in my install using the DarkKnight skin it's Portals\_default\Skins\DarkKnight\editor.css

@cathal connolly
I have searched around the web for quite some time now

On my site I am going to add a lot of styles I can add them to the dropdown box now but I don’t want styles to appear more than once in the list for example ( “.style{ color:red; } h1.style{margin-top:10px; margin-bottom:5px;}”
if I would put these in editor.css then it would show .style and h1.style
I don’t want that I could solve this by placing the h1 style in the skin file only and not in the editor.css then the dropdown only shows .style the problem with this is that the style doesn’t show right in the textbox

My question comes down to this is there a way to let the textbox use the style but not show it in the dropdown box ?

or is the reason for this behavior the same bug you where talking about ?
