Hi Cabo,

Normally, if you can access the site through localhost but not from other computers, you have forgotten to set the extra site alias.  Go to the admin menu, to site settings and scroll all the way to the bottom of the page.  There, you can add additional aliases so they match however you are trying to address the site.

well..i want to host it on my own server bud.

so a bit help would be nice...plz tell me how to enable aspx on IIS. I can see the website on localhost but not with a other computer:(

You have download and install the .net framework sdk to enable an iis server to serve aspx pages.

DNN3 needs .net framework 1.1

DNN 4 needs .net frame v2

both can be downloaded for free from MS's web site.  Go to MS download cetner and search for framework.

I would also add and move to the top of the list default.aspx to the documents tab of your virtual directory.

--Mark

yee thats exactly what i did. I can browse it on localhost but not from a other network:(

Thats the way goto host-->portals and set the portal alias to your webserver.  Then publish the site to your new server.

I just cannot get it working completely with my hosting company.  The HTML module doesn't seem to work when I edit, maybe the FreeTextBox...

Hiya

I had the same problem, would not post on IIS but could see it on localhost. There is nothing wrong with Default.aspx, you just need to tell your website that it has an extenal alias. To allow the website to be seen by the outside world, log in as the Host, on the Host menu go to Portals, then Advanced Settings, Portal Aliases then add Alias and enter your external dnn name e.g. www.joebloggs.net/dotnetnuke

I can now access from outside my network
