Hello:

I have a DDN 6 installation working properly but if I go to the Server Management Studio I can't see the tables of that database installation.

I have other sites in the same server and the same SQL Server and have no rpoblem.

Any idea?

Thans a lot

most likely, you are looking at the wrong database. Check the (uncommented) database connection strings in your web.config. If a file called database.mdf is mentioned, it can be found in /app_data folder, but be careful attaching it to the server - this will stop access by your website (until you alter connection strings to use database name, user and password).

Hello Sebastian, thanks for answering.

In that site the conn strings are theese:
<add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Data Source=SERVER\SQLEXPRESS;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True" />
<add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=(local);Database=DotNetNuke;uid=;pwd=;"/>

But I have no file named DotNetNuke.mdf or something. And something strange. It works. But I don't know where... :)

Was the first installation on the server and I made some mistakes I think. After that installation, every conn string seems like this:
<add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Data Source=NS390438\SQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=PRUEBA;User ID=prueba;Password=sala1923" />
<add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=(local);Database=DotNetNuke;uid=;pwd=;"/>
In this case I have an MDF file named PRUEBA and I can access trough the SQL Management Console....

I have a SQL Server Express 2005 installed cause it was in the server for Plesk support. But I have installed a 2008 instance for DNN, cause I don't use Plesk for DNN and 2008 works better in Server 2008.

I loogen into de 2005 instance but no way. There is no DotNetNuke database either.

userinstance=true uses /app_data/database.mdf by default. please read http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Blogs/EntryId/1202/DNN-SQLExpress-SQL-Server-Management-Studio.aspx for further details.
