Hi im not sure if you can help me with this on?!

i am hosting a DNN6 site using the ASP.NET v4.0 application pool. This works fine.

i now want to add a application into the website using IIS. i give this application the DefaultAppPool running .Net 2. this is not working.

please not that when im running the application stand alone it works fine.

i get the following error:

Server Error in '/bizcenterweb' Application.

Configuration Error

The error is because you're running the app in the 2.0 framework, and the web.config contains a key that is only applicable to the 4.0 framework:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libra...

If you originally developed the application using 4.0, then VisStudio probably added the key/value pair.

It's always best to isolate applications from each other if you can.

unfortunately in this case i cant separate the 2 applications.

i did try to set requestValidationMode = "4.0" but still no luck

do u know of any way to resolve this issue?!

Sounds like an inheritance issue with the framework which can be a pain to sort out:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms178685.aspx

What happens if you switch the app pool for the subdirectory over to 4?

when im running is stand alone it works.

keep in mind this is a web-service and needs to run on .Net 2 for that actual application that calls it to work

if i run it in the application in the website i get the following :

Server Error in '/bizcenterweb' Application.
Could not load file or assembly 'DotNetNuke.HttpModules' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'DotNetNuke.HttpModules' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Source Error:

An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below.

Assembly Load Trace: The following information can be helpful to determine why the assembly 'DotNetNuke.HttpModules' could not be loaded.

WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.
To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.
Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.
To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].
