I am using Windows 7 Professional and IIS 7.5 Express as my web server. How do I open request to port 30810? Thanks.

Windows 7 is not configured by default to act as a server. you need to use advanced options of the firewall to allow remote calls as well as configure IIS Express for remote access, see http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2010/06/28/introducing-iis-express.aspx. However, if you need to access your site from remote, I would install full IIS instead (enable/disable Windows components > Web Server), which provides you with a friendly UI for website configuration and will run even with no user being logged on.

Does it mention in that article how to configure IIS Express for remote access? I read through it and couldn't find it and then used a search on the word "remote access" and they didn't seem to explain how to do it except for saying that it was possible. How do you configure IIS Express to enable remote access?

I should also ask the following: I have installed full IIS onto my computer. How do I now get my website running using this server? I am currently using Microsoft WebMatrix.

I will walk you through what I did because I am still having trouble. My local website has home page: http://localhost:30810/en-ca/home.aspx. The computer that I would like to log in from has IP address: 191.161.0.101.

I logged in as Host then went to Admin -> Site Settings -> Site Aliases -> Add new alias -> I typed in 191.161.0.101:30810. Now, I went to the computer with IP address 191.161.0.101 -- it is on the same network as my machine -- and I typed in 191.161.0.101:30810/en-ca/home.aspx to the URL bar. However, when I do this I get an error saying that the page cannot be displayed. I waited a few hours and tried again but the same error message comes up on Internet Explorer.

Did I do something wrong? How do I fix this problem?

The http alias should have the IP address of the computer where the website is (localhost to the website) - not the IP address of the computer from which you are trying to connect.

So also the URL when you try to connect from another computer. Use the IP address of the computer that has the website.
