We received the following CRITICAL error affecting all portals in our system

Exception Details: System.InvalidOperationException: Sequence contains more than one matching element

Stack Trace:

[InvalidOperationException: Sequence contains more than one matching element]
System.Linq.Enumerable.SingleOrDefault(IEnumerable'1 source, Func'2 predicate) + 735123
DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Membership.MemembershipModule.AuthenticateRequest(HttpContextBase context, Boolean allowUnknownExtensinons) +814
DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Membership.MembershipModule.OnAuthenticateRequest(Object sender, EventArgs e) +76
System.Web.SyncEventExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() +68
System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously) +75

Is there a fix for this issue?
What's the cause?

We were able to get past the issue by recycling the app pool

Note: My site suddenly went down again with this issue (and an IISReset fixed it). Is anyone else experiencing this on DNN 6.2.3? It could be more serious than I thought originally..

there might be an issue in your data, returning 2 records where only one is expected. it would require a dive into DNN source code to identify the proper sql statement.
