I've got a 7.0.0.1 installation with six portals. Installed a new skin package, everything seems to have converted over nicely.

A day later, for some reason, the page order has gone whacky on just about every portal. Using the admin page management tool does not produce consistent results. I can drag the pages around on the tree with no problem, and I get the 'page moved' result.  However, they're not moving, or they're moving in an order completely unrelated to what I've just done..

I cannot make sense of it.  The only thing I did before this odd behavior was attempt to remove the old skin, but I must have missed a container somewhere so it failed.  While hunting for the stray container across my portals, I noticed the page order issue.

Edit: I also cleared the recycle bin in several portals.

Suggestions?

AND it appears that trying to fix page order on one portal, is affecting page order on portals I'm not even currently logged into. This is frustrating.

We're using a different version but having the same issue. Were you able to resolve it?

Hi, we did check the database yesterday. Many of the pages have the same sort order number. In addition, when you change the sort order by dragging and dropping in the page manager it changes the number of both the page you moved and the one you moved it above. For instance, Home is sort order 99 and About Us is sort order 99. When I move Home above About Us the sort order changes to 102 and 105 respectively.  Thus, another page with a sort order of 103 could appear between the two pages, causing the strangeness.

In addition, a site map for portal 3 on our server was generated last night, after we rearranged the pages. It is all messed up. You can see it here: http://www.fortlewis.edu/sitemap.aspx?portalid=3

You will see the child portal is /paa/ which is a portal dedicated to student programs but the pages after that are from the IT website.

So, we're homing in on the issue but still don't have a solution. What do we need to do? It is vital that we fix this soon because it is affecting our rank in google and the user experience on 160 mission critical websites.

Thanks for all your help.

Scott
