I am retiring a website and wish to have any traffic on that domain (http://www.old-domain.com (which is now an alias in the new portal)) to a page within my new portal (http://www.new-domain.com/old-domain-info.aspx).

Could you please outline the required settings.

well if the old page is using dnn you can go to Admin>Site Settings>Advanced Settings>Site Aliases and add the new site as a permanent redirect...

All very well if the old portal still exists, and is the portal that IIS is directing the domain too... Neither of which is true...

well hmmm... how about this: If you can access the old domain, set up a simple web config file.... then set it up for an automatic redirect by using the code below (edit as needed and remove the space after each<) let me know if this is what you are looking for:

look,

Thanks for your efforts, but you've obviously not grasped the issue here.

The old portal no longer exists.

The old domain name is now a 'site alias' for the new portal.

So, unless you can contribute a solution via either the use of IIS URL rewriter ie regular expressions (something I'm not strong on), or the installation and configuration of a url redirect. Please stop 'helping' me.
