I am sorry, we prefer using the original CKEditor provider over the "stolen" one.

I'm not sure what you mean, Sebastien.  This is the DNNConnect.CKE editor that is installed with the DNN8 install package.

The CKEditor here (https://dnnckeditor.codeplex.com/) doesn't install with DNN8.

Hi Sebastian
I am going to stop using the "stolen" one too.  Lots of little bugs that cause big problems.
Any chance you could detail the steps to change providers to the real CKE.
Thanks
Ian

Ian,
you should be able to download and install the editor from http://dnnckeditor.codeplex.com
you'll need to switch editor in Host > HTML Editor configuration and use dedicated config module (should be installed beneath the original one on the same page).

Cheers from Germany,

Hi Sebastian

Thanks - very simple - I can now set module instance settings in my forms again plus I get docs.

The content editor of any platform is central to almost everything so I find it rather sad that DNNcorp let the current editor be released with so many small bugs and zero docs.  Good way to put off newcomers to DNN too.

I shudder to think what these forums would be without your commitment - Big Thanks.

Can anyone elaborate on this "stolen" one. What do you mean? How is it that the default installation DNN provides contains a "stolen?" CKEditor? So should everyone change to the one at http://dnnckeditor.codeplex.com and what is the difference then? Why doesn't DNN include the proper one then? Where is this documented? Is the http://dnnckeditor.codeplex.com one compatible with DNN 8? Nothing in the documentation about it... Strange...
