Hi,

I'm new to dotnetnuke - first day with it today.

What I am trying to accomplish is a registration feature similar to dot net nukes registration process. The only problem is that I am unable to see how to customize the registration input fields. My first question is - is this possible without installing a new module?

Secondly I have gone to the community modules section and found a community created module for customizing registration forms. My only problem is that I have no idea how to upload it. I try uploading the zipped file using the file manager but I get this message:

An error has occurred.
Error Moving File:Portal Root\\Think.DynamicForms.zip to Portal Root\\Modules\\

The File Settings.ascx Is A Restricted File Type. Valid File Types Include ( *. swf, *.jpg, *.jpeg, *.jpe, *.gif, *.bmp, *.png, *.doc, *.xls, *.ppt, *.pdf, *.txt, *.xml, *.xsl, *.css, *.zip ). Please Contact Your Hosting Provider If You Need To Upload A File Type Which Is Not Supported.

Does this mean that my hosting provider doesn't allow me to upload new modules????

Please help! Am I doing something wrong?

Ok I have logged in as the host and it seems to solve the file uploading error problem - but when I choose to upload a new module from the module definitions menu nothing seems to happen...

Tks for help!

I seem to be talking to myself alot here lol...sorry for being such a noob. I've now got the module to install properly that I want - but I get this message when i try to add one to my page:

"A critical error has occurred.
MinMax persistance type of cookie requires a ModuleId"

Then I get this when I try to examine the module settings:

"An error has occurred.
Unhandled error loading module."

Any help would be appreciated :)

For the uploading of modules. You need to login as Host (SuperUser), and go to Host > Module Definitions, then select the Menu Action to upload new module.

If you can't login as Host, then you'll need to get whoever is hosting your site to do it for you (if they will).

For the other error, that is very common when anything is wrong in a module, so I can't help you there.
