For a free keep-alive service try Host Tracker.

It a great service and they provide a wide range of reporting.

search under "keepalive" or ping site key words in snowcovered
i prefer the wget.exe, google it and u can download it is freeware
in both cases  it will resident on ur pc
ur host's solution will reside on their server
as it is a share hosting they will not allow u to install any software.
so u r stuck with client side solution or thiers!

Here is a free ping program (installs as a NT service) you can run on your machine (assuming you leave it on 24hours/day).  The wife doesn't know it, but I have it running on her machine!   Set it up to ping http://www.yoursite.com/keepalive.aspx

I am using SmartPing, but I was wondering if I should make a dedicated page for SmartPing to point to.  I tried pointing it to my homepage, but it makes my hit counter go up one every ping.

Thanks,

Eric
