Hi just another quick (possible silly) question. I've just tried uploading the favicon.ico into my portals directory using my Administrators account but wasnt able to. The file type is supposedly a restricted file type.

Am I required to use the Super Admin account to upload these "restricted" file types?

Thanks

Yes

Host/host settings/advanced settings will allow you to add file extentions.

Also - the favicon should be in the root folder. so you should be able to ftp it.

I have placed my own icon in /portals/0/ and given it the name favicon.ico.  I then copied a different one into the same location overwriting the first.  However, the old one continues to be the icon displaying...I've even tried deleting the favicon.ico file from the portal root folder all together and the old one still shows up.  Is this file being stored in the db as a blob or something?  I've successfully changed it once but can't seem to change it again, can anyone advise?

Thanks

Dar

Try clearing your browser cache.  CTRL+F5 should do it in IE, or SHIFT+Refresh in FF.

If you're using Vista IE, I've found it a little inconsistent on displaying favicons.
