I have tried parsing the skin after i upload it, and css appears, but the images usually don't.  For example the following image appears on the skin.

http://localhost:2458/DotNetNuke/Portals/_default/skins/comp_illuminated/media/breadbar_top.gif

but an image that was included in the same skin dosen't appear

http://localhost:2458/DotNetNuke/Portals/_default/skins/comp_illuminated/media/breadbar_right.jpg

I have been stuck on this for hours any ideas please reply.

hi,
could you be a bit more precise ?
where did you place your img tag ?
from the css or from the skin ?

if you use the image from the skin I suggest you verify you had the following peace of code on the image tag runat="server"

hope it could be usefull

Thank you for your reply.  I noticed that the engine was only rendering gif images and not rendering jpg images.  I have installed Dotnetnuke on another machine and jpg images render correctly. 

I don't have any problems with  gif, or jpg on any other application I run on the Visual Web Developer run anywhere webserver.

Thanks for any ideas,

I thought it might be the compression settings on the host, so I changed all of them but this did not help.  I also changed the MIME types to be excluded from compression. 

Please anyone have any ideas?
